Welcome to The Morro Project

Morro de São Paulo
Morro de São Paulo is a small, picturesque island located off the coast of Salvador, in the state of Bahia, Brazil. Part of the Tinharé Archipelago, it’s known for its stunning white-sand beaches, clear turquoise waters, and lively yet laid-back atmosphere. The island is car-free, adding to its charm—visitors get around on foot, by wheelbarrow taxis, or by boat. Morro de São Paulo offers a mix of relaxation and nightlife, with quiet beaches like Praia do Encanto and vibrant spots such as Segunda Praia, where bars and restaurants line the shore. It’s a popular destination for both Brazilian and international travelers seeking a tropical escape with a touch of Bahian culture.
Why?
This project is about more than music – it’s about giving local kids opportunities, confidence, and a brighter future.
The build cost will be almost entirely privately funded by Marcos & Anne Santana, and Jan Henderson.
To create a sustainable community center for the locals of Morro de São Paulo to learn samba reggae percussion & dance and maths, english and IT skills.
