Rhythms that heal mind and body

Tribo Samba Reggae Band

TRIBO is an international non-profit making, cross-cultural drumming and dance music project aiming to educate young children and adults, encourage their creativity and improve their well-being. Through the power of music, TRIBO helps people nurture their own creativity (without having to be musically trained or gifted) and develop skills which will enrich their lives on multiple levels. TRIBO has its origins in Morro de São Paulo on the island of Tinharé (Bahia, Brazil), providing the children of the island ways to develop their confidence and talents, from 2005. The London-based group was founded in the UK in 2008 by Marcos Santana. TriboBand was set up in 2019 as a Community Interest Company, by Marcos Santana and Jan Henderson. It aims to support local communities with percussion for pleasure, healing, self-development or simply a deeper connection within their community. We pride ourselves on our inclusivity, welcoming all members of varying abilities, ages and nationalities. TriboBand has played free of charge in London to support the Grenfell tower families, Crisis homeless charity, Black Live matter events, various fund-raisers and at various carnivals and festivals across Europe and in Salvador, Brazil.
